Tuuvi

Tuuvi finds the right SPF for everyone in your family from today's UV forecast, and reminds you when it is time to reapply. For iPhone.

Getting help

Write to akos@tallpoppystudio.com. Include your iOS version and what you were doing when something went wrong, and you will get a reply from a person.

Common questions

How does Tuuvi choose an SPF and a reapply time? From each person's age, skin type and skin sensitivity, and from the UV forecast for the hours ahead rather than just the current reading — if UV is 3 now but will reach 8 by noon, the recommendation is made for 8. Water, sweat, sand and towels shorten the interval. When UV stays at 2 or below all day, Tuuvi tells you no sunscreen is needed.

Where is my family's data kept? On your iPhone, and in your own iCloud account if iCloud is switched on, so it reaches your other devices. We have no server and no copy of it. See the privacy policy.

Why does Tuuvi want my location? UV depends on where you are. Your location is used to fetch the local forecast from Apple Weather and to show your city's name. Without it, Tuuvi cannot give a forecast.

Can Tuuvi read my skin type from Health? Yes, if you allow it. Tuuvi reads the Fitzpatrick skin type you have set in the Health app so you don't have to enter it again. It is optional, and you can enter a skin type by hand instead.

I'm not getting reapply reminders. Check that notifications for Tuuvi are allowed in Settings → Notifications → Tuuvi, and that a Focus mode isn't holding them back. Reminders are scheduled when you tap Apply for a person.

How do I add more family members? The free version covers one profile. A subscription unlocks up to eight. Subscriptions are managed, and can be cancelled, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
